Mammoth American Tattoo

I had went to another tattoo shop to get a quote. The artist didnt even give me the time of day unless I scheduled an appointment. I reached out to Dj Chilcote and he did more than I could have asked for. He gave me several options and made me feel important. I got my tattoo done that same day and he made sure I was comfortable and that I loved the design. I highly recommend DJ because he actually cares about his clients and not about just making a quick buck. I will be back!

This place is an amazingly friendly and professional neighborhood business where everyone is welcome, including dogs (well, they can drink from the bowl outside). The artists are at the top of their game and put 100% into every piece, big and small alike. I’ve gone in for multiple tattoos, and just love dropping by to say hello.

I am so satisfied & in love with my new tattoo. After searching numerous places in denver I am grateful I found Mammoth tattoo. It is a legitimate place to get a high quality, WELL done tattoo. All the artists here are extremely skilled & professional. Dj Chilcote did my perfect butterfly with flowers. He is a fantastic artist, highly recommend. Words can't describe how happy I am with my tat. Very welcoming, clean and friendly environment, Wendy is so sweet.

I came from out of state to get tattooed by William. The tattoo came out better than I imagined. From the very first call speaking with Wendy through getting tattooed was such a positive experience. William is as professional and skilled as they come. I will 100% travel back for more work at this wonderful shop.

I've put in about 20 hours of work with Jesse Montgomery on a cover-up / shoulder / back piece. I worked with him at his previous studio and now his new station at Mammoth. Jesse is a joy to work with. He's extremely talented, professional, and meticulous about detail. I love that I can just tell him the random thoughts in my mind of what I'm wanting to do, and he executes it beautifully with a custom design reflecting his own artistic talent.
The staff at Mammoth American are super friendly and inviting, and keep an immaculately clean stuido.
After having some questionable work by sub-par artists in the past, I feel so lucky and confident to have found my tattoo-home with Jesse and Mammoth.

Response and revision: After reading the owners half-hearted response I now know that everything I said was true. First of, I gave 24 hrs notice to your business of complete cancellation because your artist could not do something simple as respond to my emails about design, which as someone who is running a business would want the client's simple request to be met, but if you want to throw business at me, you are the first tattoo parlor that ever asked for a deposit from me, and I have gotten tattoos in major cities before, so do not believe your high and mighty response on that has weighted merit. If you choose to believe the misconception that all this right, that the customer is a friend, then perhaps the problem is your artist whom showed up 25 minutes late to the consultation which is very poor business. If I showed up that late for a client, I would be fired. But I am guess the buddy system in place, that would never happen. I will stick with shops that actually know how to communicate with there clients rather than be dismissive. Good luck with your endeavors.

Don't be swayed by friends and family reviews, most all of these are to bring in business with false promises. I set out to get a memorial tattoo, something that shouldn't be discarded as a run of the mill flash piece. I gave my idea, made my appointment, and gave a deposit which was a first. Never did they say that if I needed to cancel all together that my $50 was theres for good. I had to reschedule my first appointment, but had given my artist everything he needed to for what I had hoped would be a memorial to my father that passed away early this year. In my email I also asked a few questions pertaining to length he was thinking it would be, and a general idea of cost so I was sure I had everything in place. No response was given as my appointment drew near, no call was given to verify time or as any questions on my design. In other words, he didn't care one bit since of course I wasn't anything that would further his career or his night life. I have run across this at numerous tattoo parlors around town, if your not female, you are a burden to them. When I finally cancelled and was told for the first time my money wouldn't be refunded I knew that it was shady and were just money grubbing. I recommend going anywhere else but here. But if anyone knows some place that does actually care about clients by all means tell me, because Denver is letting me down.

I just had my fourth 3-hour session with Chad Stewart. It is always a very pleasant experience & I am always in awe of the finished product. If you want quality work done by a very talented, light-handed professional artist, ask for Chad.

Having had numerous bad tattoos, being referred to William at Mammoth was the best thing that could have happened to me. My girlfriend is happy to criticize my old work now as my new stuff is AWESOME. No one can tell its a coverup and I can say I've never been involved with a business with a more "cheers" neighborhood friendly environment.
