Tried & True Tattoo

Got my tattoo done by Cory. We walked in with a group of 4 all wanting tattoos and they took care of all of us. He free handed mine and did an amazing job! The lines and shading are perfect! He was also super friendly and funny, they made us feel welcome. They're a cash only shop and their work is well worth the money. I would come back to Hawaii just to get another tattoo done by them!

This place is awesome. My son and I were on vacation and got tattoos. I was a newbie and Danny did an awesome job. Corey is the store owner and did a beautiful script on my son’s bicep. Quality work and we are both thrilled. You do need to plan ahead as this is a busy establishment. We did a consultation and then scheduled for the day before we flew out.

Cory gave me a beautiful tattoo. Very refreshing to find a truly genuine person who loves what he does. He made the afternoon fly by. Very knowledgeable, clean and just a great experience 👌. Would highly recommend this shop!

Cory and Danny worked on my husband and me (first tattoos for both of us). We had an excellent experience. Both were super friendly and did fantastic work. They were extremely accommodating on short notice and the tattoos look awesome. We definitely recommend Tried & True Tattoo!

Amazing shop. All the staff are helpful, understanding, and knowledgeable. Cory cares about his customers (and his staff.) He was really great, and made sure my tattoo was perfect. Cory is one of the best tattoo artists ive ever met. On our honeymoon my wife and I had been planning on getting matching tattoos on our wrists. It was my 5th but her 1st tattoo, and Cori was awesome keeping her relaxed about it. He worked closely with us to sort through our ideas and come up with a final design that was unique to us, practical for the wrist area, and looked awesome. His prices were good too and he was a pleasure to hang out with.

My wife and I went in a couple hours before they closed and were able to get an appointment right away. After we decided what we wanted for our first tattoos, Cory and Evan did an amazing job. There wasn't any pressure before the sale. Great experience, probably the best during our week long rainy, cold visit to Kauai!

Danny is awesome!! He’s got a light hand and gives hella attention to detail. (These are my and my sisters matching micro tattoos, our friend got a way more intricate and detailed one that also looks fantastic! Great shading, steady lines.) Definitely recommend!

Got my first tattoo done here while on vacation and I’m extremely impressed and in awe of Evan’s work! Cory, Evan and Danny were all very friendly and helped to make my tattoo experience a positive one. Nowhere else I’d have rather gotten my first tat done... setting the bar high for the next one!

Being a tattooer I HAD to get some ink to memorialize my trip. We were told about a few tattoo shops by some of the valets only to find that they had stairs with no elevator (older buildings) On one of the days sightseeing we ran across a small place tucked in behind a restaurant. Turned out to truly be a hidden gem. “Tried and True Tattoo” was the spot, in Kapa’a. It was an older looking small building but there was a ramp up to the door and a small lip on the door. After getting in with some help from the wife, it was great! The bathroom is not accessible but I can overlook it for a clean, professional, and very talented group of artists. My friend, wife, and myself all got some fresh art as well as stickers and a rad print. If you make it out there, ask for Evan or Cory. Friendly artists and a clean spot. Highly recommended.
