Lilac Tattoo Studio: A Clean, Welcoming, and Safe Space for Body Modifications

Lilac Tattoo Studio is a women-owned tattoo and piercing shop located in Dallas, Texas. The studio is exceptionally clean, welcoming, and safe, providing a comfortable experience for all walks of life and identities. The shop is decorated with pride flags around the front desk, making it clear that everyone is welcomed as soon as they walk in.

The staff at Lilac Tattoo Studio is very welcoming and kind, taking the time to answer any questions you have. They provide a paper that has generalized healing instructions, and they also offer to do a free jewelry change when the time comes to switch out your jewelry. The staff is all women, which helps to provide a sense of comfort to women and feminine presenting people that they cannot normally find in a tattoo shop. The shop is also very open and clear on its mission to make sure everyone is treated professionally and walks out better than they walked in. This means a lot for marginalized communities because they can walk into Lilac Tattoo Studio and know that they will be treated with dignity and respect.

Every artist at Lilac Tattoo Studio maintains a very clean work area, and their setups before tattoos or piercings are done with care. The work areas also have really cool décor in them, and it all works well with the ambiance of the shop as a whole. The artists are skilled and professional, and they take the time to make sure that the design and placement are both perfect.

While some customers have reported long wait times, others have praised the shop's organization during busy events like Friday the 13th flash sales. Overall, Lilac Tattoo Studio is a shop meant for everyone and all walks of life. If you're in Dallas and looking for a professional, talented, and caring tattoo and piercing shop, Lilac Tattoo Studio is definitely worth checking out.

super great, the staff were all so very cool and friendly. Jo, the lovely shawty that tatted me, did an absolutely phenomenal job. Shout out to her for real! Would totally recommend this place (:

I just got my first tattoo here at Lilac and I am in LOVE. My artist, Maddy, was absolutely amazing. Made me feel so comfortable and I love the work that she did for me. She is so amazing and awesome at her job! Plus the studio is so cute. Definitely coming back.

My “tattoo” came off…

My boyfriend and I went to get very small matching tattoos. My boyfriend got two dots and I got a smile line— so together we can make a smiley face with our fingers together. The tattoo artist that did our tattoos was very inexperienced.
For reference I have two full sleeves-both my thighs— two around my ankle- a previous finger tattoo —and a tattoo on my stomach— so I know a thing or two about tattoos.
She went over each of our lines 8 times, dropped the gun, and told us she’s never had proper training, only that she started tattooing at 13 on human skin.
Within a day one of my boyfriends eyes was completely gone and the ink from my smile line started to bleed out— leaving me with half a line and my finger black from the bleeding ink.
We paid $195.50 for these tattoos.
We called the tattoo shop and explained to them how unhappy we were with our fading and infected tattoos. The owner- Dominic Ransom-was the most unprofessional business owner I’ve ever had an encounter with.
She started to YELL at my boyfriend over the phone telling us we are uneducated about tattoos that fade.
My boyfriend and I both have a tattoo on our finger (mine is 8 years old and is more noticeable than the one I received at Lilac tattoo studio) She continued to SCREAM at us through the phone that she would take us both to court if we left bad reviews calling it “defamation”. Refused to give us any sort of refund, and said some really horrible things about my boyfriend and I that was completely unrelated to our tattoo experience.

The owner of this business is a horribly unprofessional person and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone I know.

Update- It has now been four months since receiving this finger tattoo and there is no evidence of the $195.50 tattoo ever existing.

Would 100% recommend Lilac Tattoo Studio to anyone! The whole place is so inviting and laid back it’s so refreshing. Salean tattooed a large piece on my hip and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! She was so easy to talk to and did absolutely stunning work. I can’t wait to go back and get more work done here!

Went for a walk-in tattoo today and was helped immediately! Maddy did a wonderful job on my tattoo and all of the staff was so friendly, not to mention the environment of the entire shop felt welcoming and comfortable. Can't wait to come again sometime!

Everyone is so friendly and the shop is GORGEOUS and so clean.

Kaylen did a rook piercing for me and it is healing so well. She was super quick and professional. She was also really great with the apprentice and allowed her to watch and explain things.

100% will be back!

Yes, this place is cute and most of the staff is welcoming but they’re way over priced. (Granted it is my fault for paying that much when I should have left, I have anxiety about that kind of thing plus it was my birthday present to myself that I really wanted) but it’s ridiculously over priced for some lettering.I will say after my initial artist asked about placement and informed me she didn’t tattoo the area she asked another artist to do it, Jay was very professional and patient.
I likely won’t be back due to the entire process of switching artist, putting the stencil on twice and tattooing took about 40 minutes and I was charged $180, that’s $270 per hour... that ain’t it.

Update 4/20: my friend was paying for a piercing for my birthday for both of us, they liked it here and honestly Leydi was great, professional, efficient, explained everything. I really appreciated my philtrum piercing from Leydi.
Also the artist that did my tattoo is no longer there and the owner has said the artist price themselves, a lot of them are still over priced for tattoos but the owner is both reasonable priced for far better skills in my opinion then some people that work there.

Went there for the Pride month tattoo flash sale. The staff and set up of the location is amazing. However I believe I was charged more than I should have been. I received the small color test as well as a planet on my ankle and was charged $160. On top of that, this is the only tattoo I have ever had that is constantly raised… and I have two full sleeves plus some.

I love what they do with flash sales, the owner, and an all female staff but I am disappointed with what I paid for.

Me and my bestfriend came in today as walk-ins to get our first tattoo and it was amazing! The environment was very calming and welcoming and my artist, Joey, did an amazing job on my tattoo. 100/10 recommend
