The staff is always super friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Have gotten two tattoos here by two different artists (Jelena and Jenna), and have enjoyed my experiences completely. Very professional, safe, and comforting atmosphere.

I was told to do a walk in for the tattoo I wanted over the phone and email but when I arrived I was informed that Fridays were the only day they had someone specifically doing walk ins and they wouldn't be able to service me that day. I totally understand that concept and that most artists are busy with appointments for larger tattoos but I think it was very unprofessional and lacking in forethought to not have informed me of that information before I made the almost hour long drive to Richmond to get my tattoo. I would recommend letting patrons know that they will likely not be able to be seen except on Fridays when they contact you prior to coming into the studio.
I was just disappointed with the lack of customer centered care although I'm sure those who are seen get quality tattoos.

Been wanting to get tattooed here and I’m so glad I finally did it! Went in for a walk in and Tannis was my artist. She is so unbelievably talented! My tattoo is perfect, the lines are crisp and the shading is beautiful. I have around 20 tattoos now and I have to say this was far and away the best experience I’ve ever had getting tattooed, even compared to times I’ve had an appointment or gotten a larger piece. Cannot recommend Black Rabbit and especially Tannis enough. If you’re weighing your options for where to get your next tattoo this is definitely the place. I’m looking forward to coming back again in the future!

Went to this shop back in March of 2021, overall a good experience. I love my tattoo, however it didn’t heal as great as I was expecting and my artist seemed a bit cold/quiet. The atmosphere was super comfortable, and the appointment went smoothly considering how busy the shop was and the front staff was very friendly! Only big con I have is that there was a dog in the shop, which now thinking back on it doesn’t seem sanitary. Would love to go back and give this shop another try, just hoping there isn’t any more pets in the building…. having pet dander near my open wound makes me a bit nervous and I wouldn’t want to risk infection.

I love Black Rabbit. The studio is clean and inviting. It’s signage and paperwork make it a safe place (ie we accept all races, genders, abilities etc., they ask for the preferred pronouns, etc.). The are organized and have a full time person who schedules and confirms for all appointments, which isn’t common for many tattoo studios. The staff is kind and professional. I have seen Jelena twice and interacted with her many times via email. She is responsive, affable and I love her work! She made me feel so comfortable and at ease. Can’t wait to go back to Black Rabbit!

Been tattooed here a bunch and everyone is so kind. My piece from Tannis is one of my favorites and Kyah is always kind to me at the counter. 10/10 would recommend.
