Got my ears pierced today and couldn't have had a better experience, bree was very nice and great to talk to. Both my brother and sister got theirs done here as well before me and they enjoyed it as well. Self expressions has a huge variety of piercings to choose from and the store was very clean for sure will be revisiting for my next piercing.

Amazing. The girl working helped me with my face piercings which kept falling out all the time. I went to my car to put them in and lost a piece, she wanted to replace it for free. I ended buying a little more so just paid for it but she was a delight and communicated and explained everything!!

I called in Thursday to ask about prices and the staff was very helpful on the phone. I went in around 2 o'clock ands I filled out the paperwork to get my nose pierced. While filling out paperwork Brie was working on piercing a little girl's ears, and was very patient and reassuring. When it came to my turn, she was straight up about the pain level I would experience and very quick with piercing my nose. I am overall please with how my nose piercing came out and will continue to go to Brie for other piercings.

I walked in asking if they take birth certificate's and was told yes at first. A guy butted into my conversation very aggressively telling me “No. You need an id, photo identification”. I was confused cause this lady told me yes i responded saying “But this lady told me I could”. It went on like that telling me i needed an id.I totally understood and tried to find an alternative to get pierced. But i wanted to see some jewelry to either buy or look at and the same lady let me look. I looking at the jewelry then asking if my dad come in or my sister vouch for me so i could get the piercing/s. She then took the jewelry away from me and said “My patience is wearing out!” Proceeded to walk away from me. She then walkes over to the guy who talked to me earlier(he’s also one of the people who does tattoos)and started to talk about me together while I was still in the store eyeing me and looking back knowing i could hear them. My cousin went in before me being 17 and pierced her. They could pierce a 17 year old girl minor! With no parents! But they won’t pierce an 18 year old with a birth certificate and other kind of photo identification. They were very disrespectful and had very bad attitudes and very unprofessional. Horrible experience. Would not recommend anyone here. Would give zero stars if i could.

Huge thank you to Brie! I came in to get a dermal piercing removal, which I was incredibly nervous about. Brie was very kind and asked multiple times if I was OK. The process took about 2 minutes once I was in the chair and was not nearly as bad as I had expected. This was done about a week ago and my piercing has already closed up and healed amazingly with minimum scarring. 100% recommend Tacoma Self Expressions and I will be returning for any of my own piercing needs!

Gonna go back for my other nostril piercing when this one heals 🥳 she really took her time to make sure the placement was exactly right for both even though she knew I may only be doing one. Deffff gonna be back on 2 months. Maybe in between to get my conch pierced 🤣🖤

I can not say this enough, Bree and her team are the best in Tacoma for piercings. Bree has been my go to for the past 8 years all of which have been perfect piercing experiences and all of which I still have today. Dermal's can tend to be the trickiest piercings to maintain without your skin pushing out the piercing. Mine are in great condition and beautiful. The piercing specialist and the client both play an important role on the longevity of your piercing. Choosing the most knowledgeable piercer is of the utmost importance. For that reason I’m so incredibly lucky to have found Bree. Bree has an excellent team who all put a lot of time into their education just as Bree has. I’d recommend going into Self Expressions if you plan to have a piercing done. I’m so happy I did.

Incredibly helpful staff. Haven't worn my gauges in years but now I will and do. Ended up purchasing a set of 2g Steel barrels, rose gold barrels and mystic topaz plugs. So happy to feel like me again, and all because they took the time to find me the right jewelry. Wonderful hidden gem in the Tacoma Mall!
