"Sweet Trade Tattoo on Maui was opened in the spirit of family, aloha, and a deep respect for our roots in traditional tattooing. We are dedicated to providing a pleasant atmosphere, the highest standards in sterilization, and beautiful, lasting, original tattoos. Adam Considine has been an artist since 1996, and came to Sweet Trade Tattoo in September of 2012. Adam is a master oil painter who works with American & Japanese Traditional & Polynesian tattoo. Adam and his wife, Athena, came to Maui for their honeymoon and decided quickly that this was the place for them. Adam & Athena love the Maui lifestyle of surfing, snorkeling, hiking with their dogs, or just enjoying a family day at the beach."

My husband and I cannot recommend this shop enough. Adam was peek professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and has a passion for art in general. The studio is colorful and clean, and sanitized between each session. The tattooing was quick and painless thanks to Adamβs soft touch. Loved every moment of being there, and hope to return again next year.

Amazing job. Got a tattoo and told what I wanted with a few reference pics and created a great tattoo. Adam even wrote out the meaning of each part of tattoo on page with picture. Small shop that requires you to come in to reserve appointment and always a little busy. Very upfront and honest. The art and speed of doing tattoo were awsome. Will be back again.

My partner and I went in a few days before to schedule, pay the deposit, and talk ideas. My partner wanted a tribal whale and Adam spent the time getting to know who we were to customize the tribal markings on the whale for my partner and when custom designing my tattoo. He found out what I liked, what Iβve done while on the island, and I gave him full control to run with it. The design he articulated was what I wanted without even knowing so. If youβre thinking of getting a tattoo while in Maui call before you leave or as soon as you land and get on his books. Heβs busy. Had three walk ins looking for appointments while I was on his chair. His personality and intelligence will keep you entertained and engaged while youβre tattooed. The shop is family owned and he cares about his work and what heβs putting on your body.

My husband and I were vacationing in Maui and decided to get tattoos of our sons name. I searched up tattoo shops near us and am so grateful I came across Sweet Trade Tattoo! Not only is Adam a terrific artist, but he was full of wonderful stories and has such a positive attitude. He made us feel comfortable and welcomed. The shop was well kept and clean! Adam and Siobhan rock. Plain and simple. My wife called to inquire about a tattoo while on vacation in Maui and Adam got her in same day for a consult, made a fantastic design and executed a crispy clean tattoo a few days later before we left town. Bonus: is he was able to fit me in for a quick banger on my leg as well on the day of her appointment despite the shop being busy. Friendly, easy to talk to, clean lines and quality work. Adam is the best tattoo artist ever. He is truly a professional. Iβve never had any scarring, scabs or blood. I love sitting down over a coffee and collaborating on original designs that fit my personality and lifestyle. I get a new one from him every trip I make to Maui and I wonβt get a tattoo anywhere else. His Polynesian inlays are rich in historical meaning, extremely detailed, and worth every penny. DO NOT pass up Sweet Trade. My recommendation is to do it right and make an appointment so you can get an original tattoo that you will absolutely love for the rest of you life rather than just settling for something you pick off the wall display (but he does those really well too ). And he has original oil painting. Looking to get one for my office.
